These sculptures were made the summer of 2020 as parallel outcomes and research for a virtual exhibition I was invited to take part of. The exhibition was part of Ars Electronica 2020 and it included a number of Cypriot artists working around the theme of ‘grafting’. The sculptures are made of car parts and organic matter taken from dead trees, playing with the idea of artificial and natural. Reflecting on grafting as a method of combining different plant species to create something new, I wanted to emphasise on the artificial factor that propagates and forces these new forms to exist by making my own.
